Emergency Q

Code review and consultation for an award-winning emergency-department queuing platform, resolving critical user ID and location-services issues with minimal user impact.

Emergency Q is a digital queuing platform for emergency departments, deployed across New Zealand and internationally. As its user base grew, two critical technical issues surfaced: a flaw in user ID generation, and a location-services bug that stopped users from identifying their current medical facility.

What we did

Putti carried out a comprehensive code review and provided consultation to resolve both issues — fixing the user ID generation with minimal disruption to the existing user base and remedying the location-services problems.

With the platform running reliably in major hospitals in New Zealand and abroad, Emergency Q went on to win two 2020 Hi-Tech Awards: Callaghan Innovation Hi-Tech Māori Company of the Year and Kiwibank Most Innovative Hi-Tech Services.

Putti are the type of partner every start-up wants to have; smart, technically excellent and creative.
